Our Services

Our services can be summarised in the following bullet points. To understand the benefits please take a look at our Case Studies & Testimonials or read more information below.

All our audit, test and inspection procedures are formulated around BS EN 50132 part 7, BS8418 & BS8495 along with the Data Commissioners CCTV code of practice and UK Home Office CCTV guidelines. The benefits of our methodology and documentation has been recognised by ACPO who have awarded CCTV IN FOCUS LTD services "Secured By Design" accreditation.

The benefits to our clients are:

Cost Savings
Do not get sold on high margin expensive technology, when far more economical solutions could be available. The best way to avoid this pitfall is to produce an Operational Requirement before the tender procedure starts. We can undertake this work for you, as we are totally independent of installers and equipment manufacturers, and you can be assured of an objective OR.
CCTV systems that are planned correctly can save owners and users considerable time and money without compromising the systems ability to perform the functions required. Our reports can be used to support your return on investment calculations.
Maintenance contracts can be planned and performance monitored so that real value for money is delivered and system performance optimised.

Image Testing
Image testing is a valuable tool to ensure your system keeps producing good quality images throughout its life. After installation, independent testing of each camera within a system will validate the image quality. The records for each image validation can then be used as a benchmark for future inspection/testing of each camera in the system. As all CCTV systems degrade over time, how can you be assured that images will remain of good quality? Your car requires a regular MOT to ensure it is fit for purpose, your security systems requires the same.

The Law
The Data Protection Act "DPA" and subsequent CCTV guide lines, place upon CCTV operators several legal and regulatory duties. Perhaps the one most overlooked is that images should be fit for use. The National CCTV Strategy seeks to address a major problem as perceived by the Police in that CCTV images fail to deliver. Better planning and regular testing and auditing of CCTV systems are possibly the simplest way to effect change, this is also a requirement under the DPA CCTV guide lines. The end user of CCTV images in most cases is going to be the Police and/or the legal system. When it is required can your images be used to identify people?

Project Management
If you are considering a potential upgrade or new installation of a CCTV system we can provide independent and impartial management of this process from inception through to operational start-up.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Our expertise will help you meet your corporate social responsibility goals by ensuring that images produced for the furtherance of upholding the law, or for health and safety of employees and the public, are going to be fit for purpose. If a CCTV system is planned correctly and documented thoroughly it can be inspected and tested to known criteria. A benchmark is established, so the results of maintenance and general degradation over the life of a system can be monitored. Existing systems, where planning documentation is not available, can be assessed and documentation drawn up so that the system image output can be tested. From this, future maintenance and/or capital spending can be calculated to bring the system up to the standard required.

CCTV System Report

Every system test report is produced in a hard copy format as well as on a CD. This document not only forms the basis on which the system performance is recorded, it establishes a bench-mark to enable future maintenance and upgrading to be measured and validated.

CCTV Operational Requirement Consultancy
We will help you draw up an Operational Requirement ( OR ) as required in BSEN50132 part 7/BS8418/BS8495. Our systemised guidance on CCTV system installations will enable professional tender documentation to be produced that will ensure that you get real value for money quotations from installers. An ill thought out installation will produce poor quality images which are not fit for purpose and will be regarded by the Police and criminal courts as inadequate.
Many systems are failing simply because the initial Operational Requirement is incomplete or inadequate. What's the point of paying thousands of pounds for a CCTV system that does not produce the quality of images that you require or is non-compliant with CCTV Codes of Practice and the Data Protection act?
Existing systems that have been installed with little documentation or without an "OR" can have an "OR" produced for them that will greatly assist in the management of the system, highlighting strengths and weaknesses enabling the system manager to get the maximum return on the budgets at their disposal.
